Ford F-150, the Choice of the Real Deal

When your name is Ford F-150, you have a serious reputation to uphold. After all, this is the best-selling truck in North America and the best-selling vehicle of any kind in Canada, and that many buyers can't be wrong. For the 2026 edition of its full-size pickup, Ford is banking on a smart blend of proven DNA and thoughtful updates that meet work, towing, and everyday comfort needs. Long-time fans will recognize the usual ingredients such as toughness, versatility, and strong towing capability, along with a host of improvements that enhance the overall driving experience.

Engines and towing capability

For 2026, the F-150 offers a wide range of powertrains: a 2.7L EcoBoost V6, a 3.5L EcoBoost V6, a 5.0L Ti-VCT V8, plus the 3.5L PowerBoost full hybrid V6, not to mention the High-Output 3.5L EcoBoost V6 in the Raptor versions. The PowerBoost hybrid engine, which blends power and efficiency, delivers a towing capacity of up to 11,600 lb while also enabling the use of the Pro Power Onboard generator system, a major asset for work sites and weekend projects.
Of course, with this kind of power and engine choice, it's up to you to decide what you want. Still, some versions can tow up to 13,500 pounds, one of the highest ratings in the segment. You might buy an F-150 for its comfort, but you'll definitely appreciate the muscle it brings when it's time to work.

What's new

For 2026, several updates mark the F-150 lineup. First, the PowerBoost hybrid engine is now available across a wider range of trims, pleasing drivers who want both strong performance and better fuel efficiency.
On the styling and equipment front, the arrival of the new STX Lobo package is worth highlighting. It brings a more aggressive, street oriented look with a rear suspension lowered by 2 inches, a gloss black grille, 22-inch black wheels, and a strong 5.0L V8 under the hood. A quick note for history buffs: Lobo is the name given to trucks built for street racing in some South American countries. Ford has already used the name on the Maverick, and now it's lending it to the F-150.

An F-150 for every job

What truly sets the F-150 apart, beyond the onboard Sync 4 tech, the enhanced BlueCruise hands free semi-autonomous driving (as long as your eyes stay on the road), the Pro Access tailgate that makes it easier to reach into the bed, and the many clever storage solutions, is the sheer number of available versions.
The 2026 lineup includes eight trims: XL, STX, XLT, Lariat, King Ranch, Platinum, Tremor, and Raptor. To make things even more flexible, various models can be ordered with four-wheel drive, different engines, multiple cab and bed configurations, and several option groups. All told, there are over 90 ways to configure your F-150 to match your exact needs.
